Loss of smell and taste as possible symptoms in Covid-19

According to a press release published by the British Association of Ear and Nose Specialists (ENT UK) on olfactory loss in Covid-19 patients, there is good evidence that a significant number of patients with covid-19 infection to develop anosmia or hyposmia. In South Korea, where the test was very broad, 30% of patients would have anosmia as the main symptom in other mild course.


In an Interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

Prof. Hendrik Streeck, head of the Institute of Virology at the University Hospital Bonn, reported on a loss of odour and taste lasting several days in just over two-thirds of more than 100 Covid-19 patients.
