In a study by the University of Freiburg, Burghart Sniffin’s Sticks (Screening 12) (https://1485253724.jimdo.com/englisch/standard-tests/) were used to study anosmia/hyposmia. 84% of COVID-19 patients had anosmia or hyposmia, of which only 47% indicated a subjective reduction in smell. The study indicates that "Anosmia and Hyposmia often occur unnoticed in COVID-19 patients, and that for those patients an objective and quantifiable test is required”.
